An Agenda for China-U.S. Financial Engagement

 

The Eighth Annual Symposium on “Building the Financial System of the 21st Century: An Agenda for China-U.S. Financial Engagement” was held in the Weill Center in Armonk, New York on June 24-26, 2011. As in previous years, the Symposium attracted senior financial leaders, high-ranking government officials, and distinguished academics from the two countries for intensive, off-the-record dialogues on issues affecting international capital markets.

The topics covered in panel and breakout discussions are 1) Regulation and competitiveness in the U.S. and Chinese capital markets; 2) Opportunities and challenges in cross-border investment between the U.S. and China; 3) The future of the dollar and the RMB in the global financial system; and 4) RMB denominated bond issuance and the international role of RMB. The symposium, again, provides the participants with a unique and valuable platform for the informed discussion and exchange of the concerned issues.
